A Creative Writing e-mail Correspondence Course for Home Schools

This fifteen-week (one semester) course includes:

  1. Lessons teaching various writing skills (see course overview)
  2. Assignments applying the skills featured in the lessons
  3. Critique of each assignment
  4. Relaxed approach; no workbooks
  5. One semester of English credit (if needed)

The first course lasts for fifteen weeks. There are 18 prepared lessons. I will send all of the lessons at the beginning of the course. The lessons should be kept by the parent and given one at a time. The lessons must be done in order. Students may send me their lessons via e-mail or regular mail. However, e-mail is preferable since it is much quicker and saves postage for you. When I've received three completed assignments, I'll critique them and return them to you. Again, I recommend that the parent keep the lessons and give one or two at a time to the student to complete in order.

During this fifteen-week period, the student may work at his/her own pace. A steady guideline is one lesson/week. Class size is limited, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For the summer course, classes begin the end of May. For the fall course, classes begin during the second week of September. For the spring course, classes begin during the third week of January. I will send out the first lessons during that week. These course dates may vary, so please email for course availability.
