A Creative Writing e-mail Correspondence Course for Home Schools
Many students dislike writing. There may be various reasons for this, but I find the most common reasons are
1) they are bored with it because they aren't writing about things that interest them
2) they are discouraged with it because of mechanics.
WRITE ON! correspondence writing course has effectively helped many students get over the hump and discover that writing is not the task they thought it was. In fact, they've come to enjoy it!
Writing is not the mechanical moving of a pencil, a list of spelling words, or a study of the perfect placement of a semi-colon. Writing is the expression of thought. Grammar, spelling, and mechanics are essential, but they are the focus of grammar class. The focus of this creative writing course is not on the pencil, but on the person behind the pencil. Grammar is not ignored in this course, but it is not the primary focus.
